The two mile, red-blazed loop trail only starts within the Mine Hill Preserve at Quarry Bridge (1.5 miles north of the parking area) in the northeast corner of the Preserve.

The trail ascends gradually uphill and goes through forest and by stone walls, vernal ponds and farm fields.
