History of Route 20-

1923, Chap 177 "From a point on Route No. 3, extending by way of West Berlin, Gibbsboro and Haddonfield, connecting with Haddon Avenue in the Borough of Haddonfield, and continuing to approach the Delaware River Bridge."

In the proposed 1926 renumbering this road was combined with one of the unnumbered roads (1923, Chap 201) as Route No. 25 From a point on Route #3 and Haddon Avenue, in the Borough of Collingswood, to a point on Route #14 in Mays Landing; by way of Haddon Avenue, through the Borough of Haddonfield, and by way of Gibbsboro and West Berlin into Route #3; thence over a road known as the "Berlin-Blue Anchor Road," by way of Blue-Anchor, and over the road known as the "Mays Landing Road" to Route #14, at Mays Landing.

David Mudge, NJDOT, 8/25/2000: "Remember, buying up new right of way was a costly and time consuming process also. This is probably the reason why only one of the two authorized Route 20's was constructed"

From what we can tell, the current-day routing of this road is, from Camden, CR 561 South to Berlin.  There is a dead-end near US 30, and also a seemingly newer alignment that does connect to US 30.
