Both the Latin and the French texts are quite heavily abbreviated, mostly using simple contractions which are similar in both languages when they occur. The nomina sacra terms appear in Latin only. The abbreviation mie for misericordiae (not shown in this sample) is a type of extreme abbreviation for a very common word in the context, which should easily be known and recognised. This is only a sample. To find all the abbreviations, work through the text pages with the transcript window open. |
