OPERATING CONTROLS

MOTOR CUT-OUT SWITCH

The motor cut-out switch is a four-position switch used to cut off power to traction motors. The motor cut-out function isolated two motors in any of three positions. The motor cut-out combination selects one motor from each truck.

ENGINE START AND STOP BUTTONS

Two buttons are provided, one for starting and one for stopping the diesel engine. The engine START button is effective only when the engine control switch (EC) is in START position and after the fuel pump reset button has been depressed momentarily.

The engine STOP button is used as the normal means of shutting down the engine.

FUEL PUMP RESET BUTTON

The fuel pump reset button is depressed during normal engine starting procedure just prior to depressing the engine START button. It must also be depressed to reset engine starting circuits after any one of the emergency fuel trip buttons has been operated and when the engine has shut down because of a plugged paper filter.

TRAINLINE GROUND RESET BUTTON

A trainline ground reset button is provided for resetting the ground relay in all units after a ground fault has been corrected.
