Call Button (ATC)

The call button is used to sound an alarm bell in all locomotive units of a consit.

Lead Sand Light

This light indicates when sand is being applied to the lead axle wheels only.

Sand Light

The sand light indicates that sanding is being applied at all sand discharges.

Wheel-Slip Light

This light indicates when wheels are slipping.

PC Light

The PC light indicates that the PCS switch is "open" and has not been reset.

Generator-Field Circuit Breaker

The generator-field circuit breaker is ON whenever the locomoitve is powered and operating as a pull unit in passenger service or lead unit in freight service. The breaker may also be used to keep the main generator de-energized when it is necessary to run the engine at speeds higher than idle in freight service.
