Gavrilo Princip

These are two photos from early 1915 issues of an Austrian newsmagazine called 'das Intressante Blatt'. The top photo shows Gavro Princip, who assassinated archduke Ferdinand and his wife in Sarajevo, being taken to trial under guard. The bottom photo shows the 5 conspirators (Princip is encircled in the middle) at their trial. Even though ostensibly he fired the shots that started the Great War, public interest in the fate of the conspirators-assassins faded after the outbreak of fighting. These photos are therefore somewhat unusual though the Austrian media would be expected to show more interest in the matter.
