'the War Pictorial'
An International Picture Magazine
'The War Pictorial' was a British war publication published in many different language versions for both Allied and neutral country sales. A somewhat dry and stale magazine on the inside, the many photographs notwithstanding, the outside covers were usually adorned with colorful paintings or eye-catching illustrations. Published internationally by the 'Illustrated London News' and 'Sketch Ltd.' in Great Britain, Canada and the USA, it contained a pick of official war photographs that were appreciative of the Allied war effort.
French/Spanish/Italian/Portugese, French, Dutch/French and German language editions were published. The German edition being probably intended for German prisoners-of-war.
