'The Great War'

a Britsh Serial History Magazine

'The Great War' was a serial history magazine published in Great Britain. Each weekly issue contained numerous illustrations and photographs to accompany the thematic text articles. A quality publication, by the time the war was over it numbered 13 large-sized bound volumes and covered almost all aspects of war-time events, though like most serial history publications, since the events were so near in time, a different emphasis is placed on what was considered to be important happenings. From the perspective of 80 years later, judgments on importance are necessarily different, but nonetheless 'the Great War' is one of the finest and extensive histories to be published during the war years.
