The battle of Haelen in Belgium was not a large scale engagement, not even by 19th century standards, but as it was a Belgian victory of sorts, Allied newsmagazines made much of it. A series of postcards was published of paintings of the battle. Even after the war they were still very popular and were widely sold throughout Belgium.
