'La Gazette des Ardennes' was one of the better known and widely distributed newspapers with illustrated supplement, that was published in northern France under German censorship. Though many magazines in Belgium were published under German censorship, this did not necessarily mean that their contents was pro-German. Not so for 'la Gazette des Ardennes'. Printed in French, the contents was unabashedly pro-German in tone and content and was more of a propaganda instrument than many other publications printed under German control.

Aside from a normal newspaper format, 'la Gazette des Ardennes' also published an illustrated supplment, featuing a richly illustrated selection of current photographs and illustrations.

several pages of actual news items as well as a selection of 'perfidious' Allied cartoons and caricatures
