'La France Héroique et Ses Alliés' (Heroic France and Her Allies) was a serial history magazine, published by the reknowned and respected publishing firm of the 'Librairie Larousse'. This French publishing house printed all manner of books and magazines, ranging from prestidgious encyclopedias and dictionaries, to scientific and artistic works as well as school books and cheap magazines on educational and patriotic subjects such as for instance 'les Livres Roses Pour la Jeunesse'.

This particular serial publication would run into two finely printed volumes on glossy thick stock paper. Publication started in 1916 when the war was well on and afterwards the bound volumes were still on sale long into the 1920s. Though giving the somewhat misleading impression that the Great War was fought by France with the help of several allies, the publication was a fine work indeed, if highly patriotic in sentiment. As usual with Larousse publications, the series was profusely illustrated, mostly with high quality photographs along with numerous color reproductions of paintings, watercolors or drawings.
