The city prepares for a long siege

The following pages are taken integrally from a British war-time news magazine called 'The War Illustrated'. A weekly specially created to publish war-news, 'the War Illustrated' was a working class magazine in which news was almost invariably patriotically slanted to an extreme. Many drawn illustrations were published along with a wealth of photographs and a modest number of written articles.

In this section you will find all the pages having to do with the siege of Antwerp and the aftermath which were published in 'the War Illustrated' between September to November 1914.
