110th Medical Battalion lost their lives while serving
the United States of America in
Europe during World War II. While most were killed
in action, other lives were lost due to illness or
accident. In the belief that all service is equally valid, and to
recognize their service and their sacrifice, all members of
the 110th Medical Battalion who died overseas are honored on
this

Despite instructions not to go
forward in the face of heavy fire to retrieve casualties, on January 4th 1945 a
four man litter team from Company B of the 110th Medical Battalion went forth to
aid wounded soldiers. The team was hit by a mortar round, killing the three men
honored below, and wounding the fourth, Private
First Class Ferdinand Bronzell of Chicago IL. All members of the litter team
were awarded the Silver Star.
