  MEDICAL BATTALION TABLE OF ORGANIZATION   

On this page you will find the T/O of a World War II U.S. Army Medical Battalion, which operated the 3 collecting companies and the single clearing company. On a separate page you will be able to find the T/O for a regimental medical detachment, which operated the battalion aid stations and provided the company aid men.

Below you will find a charted view of the organization of the medical battalion. As you can see it is composed of a headquarters and headquarters detachment, one clearing and three collecting companies.  A wounded man would be first treated by his platoon aid man. The aid man would send him to the Rifle Battalion Aid Station. These medics at company and battalion level were part of the Infantry Regiment atached medical personnel. The wounded man would then be transferred to the Collecting company assigned to his Infantry Regiment (Company A was attached to the 134th Infantry Regiment), passed on to the Collecting company assigned to his Infantry Division (the 35th in this case).
