209 South Main

209 South Main Street

Constructed in 1841-1842. Historically important as a Presbyterian parsonage (1842-55 and 1870-1920) and as the home of Miss Hale who operated Evergreen Hall a school for women in the building to the north. Note many interesting architectural details including: the door surrounded by four pane lights on sides and a six pane transom; the Adamesque design above the windows in the domers, and the one story columned porch.
