Camp Cowaw
Opened by the Raritan Council in 1940, close to Camp Pahaquarra on the Delaware River. The camp was sold in 1970, after Middlesex and Raritan Councils merged to become the Thomas A. Edison Council. Six new troop tent sites were carved into the forest on the northeast side of Struble Road and were named Camp Cowaw, while the original camp retained the Sakawawin name and the entire operation became Kittatinny Mountain Scout Reservation.

Currently part of Central New Jersey Council and located in Branchville, NJ. This camp, opened as Camp Sakawawin, has expanded several times during its history.

Take some time to look at the Camp History and Camp Patchs by clicking on each of the links below the patchs. They are really great. If you have any of the missing patches, please think about helping us by contributing a scan, or a patch to be scanned. I don't think there is any other council with a similar set of pages.

The National Park Service has a nice website (www.nps.gov/dewa) that mentions Boy Scout Camps along the Delware. When the page opens, use the search box to search for "Scout".
