The Cabin at Camp Buck
George Washington Council

Thanks to Charles T. Tart, Ph.D , for these two photographs of explorer scouts from Troop 18. The troop was sponsored by the Lutheran Church of the Savior, in Trenton. The scoutmaster was Carl Jacobelli and the time was 1954.

(Charley adds the following comment about the old steel bridge over the river.) "I can still remember the really loud noises cars made when they crossed that bridge, flexing and moving the wooden floor boards against the steel frame! I also have a clear auditory memory of the sound of the old water pump at Camp Buck! Funny how some things stay with you for a long time - it's been 50 years now."

Do you recognize any of the Scouts? Do you have any photographs of Camp Buck that you would like to share? I did not locate any trace of the cabin (in year 2003) at the former camp area.
