Romagne 14-18 Museum

This excellent museum covers the fighting involving the different American and German units that fought in the area around Romagne-sous-Montfaucon during the First World War. Most of the collection comes from within three kilometers of the village, and much of it collected and researched over a period of more than 20 years. It is housed in a huge barn, and there is a café serving drinks, sandwiches and snacks, along with good, clean toilets. There is also a small shop, legally selling battlefield relics, books and militaria.

The owner, Jean-Paul de Vries, is passionate about the Great War and his knowledge of the area is second to none. He is available to guide you round the AEF sectors in this part of the battlefield, having access to many locations not normally open to the public. He speaks good English, as well as French and his native Dutch. His wife is also multi-lingual, and together they ensure your visit to the museum is memorable.

The opening times are: Every afternoon from 1:00PM till 6:00PM (except Wednesday). In the morning and in the months of December, January and February only open on appointment. The café is open: Every afternoon from 11:00AM till 6:00PM (except Wednesday). Closed in the months of December, January and February.

There is no entrance fee; but voluntary contributions are welcome. Most people give in the region of 5€. Battlefield Tours start from only 10€.
