The London Regiment

2/15th Londons, Winchester 1916.

Sussex, where I lived for many years, was a traditional retirement area for Londoners. Indeed, my own family had its roots in the city, and when it came to interview WW1 veterans in the early 1980s, many of them had served with the London Regiment. I therefore carried out a great deal of research into the history of the regiment, and collected a great many photographs and other documentation about it.

This part of the site will showcase that research and will include a brief history of every battalion of the London Regiment that existed between 1914-19.
