The texts of the inaugural addresses have been copied from a Web-site at Columbia University. Since we wanted to put hyperlinks into the text at some later stage, making a link to this site would not suffice. We are grateful to the persons who have scanned and proofread these texts and we do hope that they are satisfied with the way we have treated their work and have given them credit for it.
