Section Two: The Soldiers - Example Soval/St. Germain, Philippe Luc - (Fusilier, LA, Reinepont) Born c1732. Son of Pierre
and Francoise Monier (Monits). Originally from St. Germain, Amiens, Picardie,
France. He had light-chestnut colored hair and eyebrows, his eyes were blue
“and pretty”, a small (but well made) nose, a small and pretty mouth, a white
complexion and colored, a “sein?” below the left eye. Enlisted on 29 Feb
1752. Listed as 22 years old, 5 pieds 2 pouces tall and in the company of St.
Quentin on 28 Jan 1755. Married at the age of 25 on 26 Apr 1757 at Notre Dame
de Montreal to Marie Amable Sorel dit Marly, daughter of Pierre and Louise
Campeau. Appears as Godfather at the baptism of Henri Marie Gatien, son of
Stanislas and Louise Sorel/Marly on 01 Jan 1758 at Notre Dame de Montreal. On
8 Feb 1759 he appeared before the notary G. Hodiesne along with Stanislas
Gacien. The two gave wood (Cession de bois) to build a house to Pierre Sorel
dit Marly, their father in law.
Appears at the baptism of his daughter Francoise (born 21, baptised 22
