WKBW Radio would run promotional spots to remind it's listeners of important news programs and upcoming radio productions including hundreds of commercial events throughout Western New York. WKBW ran these promotional spots over and over, during different times of the day to reach as many listeners as possible. As Jeff Kaye stated in a 1972 interview about WKBW Radio's intention to run it's adaptation of the 'War of the Worlds,' "...Halloween night, 1968 came to close the most intensive promotional campaign we have ever run...21 days of announcements - one per hour, every hour."
