Henry Brach, Jim Fagan, John ZachIn 1958 Irv Weinstein became news director of WKBW Radio’s "Pulse Beat News." He developed the concept of twice an hour "rock ‘n’ roll radio news" with fast-paced, sometimes bombastic delivery with a tabloid emphasis on the police blotter. "Crime Stoppers" and "Blaze Busters" became routine descriptors of Buffalo's Police and Fire Departments. In 1964 Irv took over as news director and lead anchor for WKBW-TV, channel 7.
