Designed by Russian Imperial Artillery Captain Mosin, this bolt action rifle was entered into service in 1891 under coding name "7,62-mm bolt rifle 1891 series". There were three types of the rifle: infantry, dragoon and cossack differs in the barrel length. Rifles were issued with cruciform spiked bayonets. In 1930 dragoon rifle was modernised. This very rifle was massproduced and served in Red Army before during Great Patriotic War.
