Radiostation V-100
Radiostation V-100
|
Battalion radios V-100, was produced by Pilot Radio Corp. in 1942-44 for Red Army and were supplied as Amtorg goods (not lendlease, if strictly discriminate). Radio comprised green wrinkle painted box with transmitter, receiver, separate antennae packs, crank generator. Intended for HF (3-7 MHz) use, standartly conceding with RB and RBM Russian battalion field HF stations and 5SG3 commanding receiver. Powered by batteries and crank generator (tx) had 500-1000 km range depending on frequency, time and antenna used. Station was made with Russian lettering, but was too bulky (weighs about 20 kg itself, with batteries/generator about 35-40 kg), power consuming and proven to be not as good as handy smaller Russian stations in harsh combat circumstances. Due to this such stations were used by supplying regiments and not by very battle regiments.
