Mark Roberts at the D.R.T. aboard USS Whipple (FF-1062)

Hello fellow sailors,

Our site first went online in 1996. Since then, we have grown in size; we have a truly international audience - and the time has come to put the ship in dry-dock, clean the hull, install new weapons & sensors.

What do I mean?

Well, we will be going off-line soon. We will be back but the time has come for an overhaul.

Where we are headed:

We envision a much streamlined site (in html code). The site will have a new interface - and it's time; the site was designed in 1996 and it's time to snaz things up a bit. I want to emphasize that none of the e-mails, contact info or photo's will be deleted. With a new design and new coding it will open up new possibilities. One of these will be more automation (on our end). Each webmaster will be able to handle a lot more traffic in the same amount of time.

The most important addition will be e-commerce. I will be opening up a business to sell ships ball-caps (the #1 question received). If that goes well, we will expand to other things like ships wind-breaker jackets - complete w/Ships logo. We have no plans to get rich off any of this but the sale of these items will go a long way towards deferring the cost of running things.

Fair Winds to All,
