I served on the Perkins from 8/71 to 12/72. I was discharged 12/12/72
about one month before she was transferred to the Argentine navy;
probable decomissioned date is Jan. 1973. I was an MM2 assigned to
R-Div. and spent a lot of time standing 6&6 in the engine room mostly
throttles and evaps. while underway. We were a training ship for a
couple of reserve outfits in the San Francisco area and were always
short handed during the week. I have a post card of the perkins and will
try and scan it to you later. Thanks for doing the web stuff.
