Greetings: I was stationed on board the MacDonough from December 1976 through October 18, 1979. Even though life on board was ok It was a trying time in my life. Of all the ships which I have served upon I disliked being on the MacDonough the most. I was married and was away from my family for a heck of a long time. Needless to say I guess that no one else from that CPO mess has ever been to Alaska and has ever lived the experience. My name is Bryson M. Riordan MMC, USN, Retired. I have been an Assistant Engineer for Pan Alaska Fisheries, Harbormaster and Port Director for the City of Unalaska, I have worked on the Alyeska Pipeline from Deadhorse to Valdez. I now work for the US Army at Ft. Richardson as a Boiler Operator, Turbine Operator and Electric Dispatch. I don't have any pictures but I do remember quite a lot about my time on board the ship. You have my e-mail address. I won't be able to attend this years reunion seeing as I have quite a few others on this coast to attend. _________________
