The name of the book is " FIGHTING SHIPS OF THE WORLD" AN ILLUSTRATED ENCYCLOPEDIA OF MODERN SEA POWER. PUBLISHED by Exeter Books in New York. The book says that "DD-837 Sarsfield Recommissioned: 5/1963 Disposal: To Taiwan 1977 " This is certainly a poor way to end the life of such a fine ship. I left the ship in August 1974 days. Is there any way to find out what happened the other three years? When I left, the ship was going through a major overhaul and was being converted from Navy NSFO to Navy Distalate fuel. I heard they took a short cruise to England and Scotland in September 1974. I wish there was more information I could give. I will try to have a picture scanned for an attachment at a later date.
