I served on USS McKean as a reservist from 1974-81. I was initiated as a chief onboard McKean in 1980. I have a copy of the decom ceremony booklet and a picture just prior to decom. The picture you have is one that I have also, going up the Columbia River to the Rose Festival, I am not sure about the year, I will have to check. I keep in touch with Dave Harrah EMC USNR retired. We served on the McKean together. We had a reserve officer G. D. Vaughan, a commander, who is now a rear admiral, Chief of Naval Reserve. Another piece of trivia, one of the co's was R. S. Hardy who was XO under Marcus Aurelius Arnheiter. Did you ever hear of "the Arnheiter Affair"? I will send to you the decom crew list of active duty and reserve personnel.
