Return-Path:
richard,
I served aboard the McKean from 69 to 71, I did one westpac in 70.
I was one of the cooks aboard the mighty MAC. I served with george
oblisk during 70 and 71. Those years were alot of good times. We were
all kids back then, I can't remember anyone over the age of 30 except
for
the capt'n and XO. I made alot of good friends, but we all went
our separate ways after the war was over. I'd love to communicate with
those who served during that era. I've got a westpac yearbook, I'll try
and scan some photo's from our voyage and send in.
Thanks for taking the effort to care.
most vets were just forgotten or discarded after vietnam.
regards,
gary hoover

Thanks Gary and we'll be looking forward to any photos and experiences
that you can recall. I know that I sure was awfully young those days
(which covered the years from 61 to 65 for my regular days)
but fortunately I remember the better things much more than the other.
Rich
