Hi Rich;
The USS Biddle(DD151) In the information I have it stated: Laid down by cramps. Philadelphia on april 22,1918. Launched october 3,1918. commissioned april 22,1919. STRICKEN october 24,1945, and sold December 3,1945.and broken up for scrap. STRICKEN, is that when they taken it out of service?(picture was in bad shape) Also enjoyed the picture of the USS McKean. Looks good. but would you give Gary E. Bowman credit for the picture, That's his old ship and his pictures. Was helping him out and sent them from my computer. This computer is new to me and trying to learn how to operate everything on it. You stated your uncle was station on the Biddle? How old would your uncle be now?(in good health I hope) Keep up the good work.

Ernie

Hello Ernie,

Yep, STRICKEN means that it was decommissioned but not yet disposed of. Thanks for the correction on the picture and the accreditation has been updated. My Uncle is 86 now and living in Bremerton Washington. He joined the navy in 1930 and I am working on his Contributors page now. I've interviewed him and will go over to Bremerton in a week or so to scan his photos, one of which is his boot camp company. I am also going to audio tape our talk so that when I start offering multimedia on DOL I will have saved it. That little project is still a ways off though due to time and money. My uncle is still in pretty good health though and thanks for asking.

Talk to you later,

Rich
