Return-Path: Was a Buckaneer from Jan 1958 to Jun 1960. Would appreciate any info on when decommissioned/disposition. Cheers
Return-Path: Thanks a bunch for the info. My wife and I are in a state of transition between the home we just sold and a new one we are having built in South Carolina. I have quite a few 35 mm slides from my Navy days stored away at the moment. Once we get settled later this year I will dig through them and see what I can find to contribute. Thanks again.
---------- Ed, The Buck went to the Naval Reserve Force in 1971 and was later sold to Brazil on July 16, 1973 where she was re-christened Alagoas. I have no more information after that which may imply that she still exists. The Gurke was sold to Greece and was decommissioned just a few weeks ago after being in service 53 years. I am building some less formal pages where people can contribute whatever material they want, memories, documents or photos, on any destroyer. let me know if you are interested. The section, still under construction, is not hyperlinked from anywhere yet but you can peruse it if you wish and even give me suggestions if you have any.
