I was on the USS Frank E. Evans during the korean war, chasing down trains from just off the coast. We Called the Captain "Choo Choo Williams" I was a Radio Operator, and am trying to find Chief radioman Porter, or any other crew members during that period of time. We recommissioned the Evans out of San Diego. Dates were about Sept 50 until Feb 52.

Richard,

Thought you might want to post this snap, maybe someone will recognize me, I sure look a lot different now. I have been in touch with Carl, and we have been sending pictures back and forth via E-MAIL. I hope others get on this page, as I sure would like to find some of my shipmates from the radio shack. Thanks again for the fine pages, and comments.

Rich,

Did some fooling around, and I think this will work. At least I hope so. Give it a try, and let me know. Thanks for your patience. you have a great page, and am looking forward to seeing more letters from other shipmates. I just turned 71 last month, and hope some are still living

Thanks
George

Rich,

Ran across this picture of the forward 5 inch gun mount, after I believe was a one hour bombardment in Wonson Harbor. I believe the battleship Missouri, a couple of cruisers (one being the Helena), some more DD's and rocket launchers, started the show about midnight. Sure must have kept the enemy troops disrupted that night. Heard there were very many of the enemy killed that night.

Hope all is well with you, and I check your page out every day. Have to do some studying tonight, am helping instruct seniors on using computers at the senior center tomorrow afternoon.

GEORGE
