The old dock of the Bee Line Ferry

Now Bay Vista Park

At one point, this was the southern exit of trade and commerce from St. Petersburg, connecting to Piney Point. The comint of the Sunshine Skyway relegated this spot to relative quiet and tranquility.

You can still envision cars and tracks lining up to take the ferry south. (8-98)

A small fishing pier has been built squarely in the middle of the old ferry dock. (8-98)

This was the western terminus of the Lee-Jackson Highway Auto Trail. At one point there was a monument, but it is gone now.
