Ozark Trails

The Ozark Trails apparently were an extensive network of highways throughout the states of Missouri, Arkansas, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, and New Mexico, rather than a single route designed to connect one place with another. To give the necessary structure to the description below, I have chosen to call the route from St Louis to El Paso the main line, and all the other routes branches. This is an arbitrary decision on my part -- I chose these cities since they are the northeasternmost and southwesternmost points in a system generally oriented northeast-to-southwest -- and so if any information about primary and secondary branches of the Ozark Trails is available, I would like to know about it.
