Scott Moore's page has several maps of the I-90/I-695 interchange plus general info. This page has specifics on several areas, mostly via scans from 2 books.

From Transportation Planning as Response to Controversy: the Boston Case by Gakenheimer (1976) (I don't support Amazon, I just link to it to prove the book exists):
Original plan without MA 2 and with I-95 using MA 1A. Blowups of the I-95 north (the US 1 alignment was preferred) and I-95 south (alignment C was preferred) areas. Transit alternatives.

From Rites of Way by Lupo/Colcord/Fowler (1971) (I guess it doesn't exist since Amazon doesn't have it :P):
Original plan and downtown inset. The corridor for I-695 in Cambridge is Brookline St and Elm St. The freeway off the east edge goes to Salem (what the map labels Salem is really part of Peabody). The I-95/I-695 interchange. The rail line is now the T orange line and commuter rail, and the roads coming off the north end are Columbus Ave and Tremont St. The EB I-695 frontage road to the west is Ruggles St.

From The Steadyflow Traffic System by Malcher (1935), original configuration and 1935 plans for Charles St (AKA Storrow Dr) from the Longfellow Bridge to Leverett Circle. The surface rails on Cambridge St and the WB side of the Longfellow Bridge are an extension of the East Boston Tunnel (now blue line) from Bowdoin. The elevated line that sets down in the middle of the Longfellow Bridge is now the red line.

1965 plans for the Worcester area. The freeways are:
I-84 (CT to I-90)
12 (I-290 to northwest of Fitchburg, now partly I-190)
I-290 (CT to east of Worcester)
2 (all of it on the map)
Worcester Loop (I-290 to I-290)
Palmer-Worcester Expwy (US 20 near I-90 exit 8 to Worcester Loop)
Ware-W Brookfield Expwy (9 west of Ware to Palmer-Worcester Expwy)
13 (12 north of 2 to NH)
15 (I-84/90 to 12)
122 (Worcester Loop to 2 in Orange)
Fitchburg-Leominster Loop (12 to 13)
146 (RI to I-290)

Planned freeways from the 1970 (?) Metropolitan Area Planning Commission plan, with 617 miles of freeway by 1990. On top is the "Controlled Dispersal" plan, and on the bottom is the "Composite" plan. Note the intermediate belt between 128 and 495 (first suggested in the 1958 Boston College Report) and the belt between 695 and 128. Other freeways not built today are I-695, I-95 inside 128, Lynn connectors, 228 to Hull, I-290 west of 128, and 109 west of 128. US 3 had already been killed inside 128.
