3rd Nebraska Infantry Volunteer Infantry

Below is the obituary for George Frisch of the  3rd Nebraska Infantry. He was buried at Woodbine Park Cemetery in Artesia, Eddy Couny,  New Mexicio,



The Obituary:

George Frisch was born at Glenvil Nebraska on February 8th, 1877.  He married Addie Fink in that city on April 29th, 1903.  That union produced three daughters, Mrs C.B.(Mildred) Chunn, Amarillo; Mrs R.C. (Vesta) Higley, Artesia and Mrs Wallace (Margaret) Hastings of Billings Montana. Mr and Mrs Frisch came to Artesia in 1907.   He was  a general contractor and was employed by the city for several years.   George Frisch served the city for several years as City Manager and up until his retirement on January 1st of 1954 was the city building inspector.

Mr Frisch was a Veteran of the Spanish American War and  a member of the Board of Stewards of the Methodist Church, the Mason's (He built the Masonic Temple), Modern Woodmen of the World and the V.F.W. Frisch died at his home at 612 S. Roselawn at seven in the morning.

In addition to his daughters, he was survived by a niece, Mrs Pete Loving; three sisters, Mrs Ralph Vance, Hastings Nebraska; Mrs Ida Nedderman, Salida Colorado; Mrs Lizzie Bearg, Sebetha Kansas; three brothers, Charles, Glenvil; Frank, Hastings; Ernest, Lincoln, Nebraska; a grandchild, Paul Hastings, Billings Montana; and four step-grandchildren.
