When I dismantled my last layout, and moved, I had my three children. Each had their own bedroom, and no room for my trains. We are at this location, since 1979.
Four years after we moved to where we are now, my #1 son got married. Eleven years after we moved in, we bought our first computer, put into, what was my #2 sons room. My daughter moved on her own 8 years ago. My #2 son moved on his own 6 years ago & was married May 30, 1999,
When the house was cleared of kids, that is when I took his room as my play room.(The computer unit, which has a 4' hutch, "L" shaped, where I keep my printer & fax is still in the room. There is also 2 filing cabinets.)
I kept all of my favorite locos on a shelf. Everything else, was stored in the locker, in my garage.. After staring at them, & of coarse dusting them, I got the itch again, and started with one wall, but this took me up to 1 year ago to scratch the itch. NOW the challenge of how to build my layout, with every thing else in the room, began. Oh yes, I forgot to mention that there is a small antique desk & chair, in here as well.
The explanation of how I set up in my play room, when you get to the "NEW" page.
I was looking through my old photos, & I realized that from the time of my first 3x5, that I only had 2 others. One was in my youngest sons bedroom. The other was in a basement,
Yes, I am 75 years old, and I guess you can say, that I still live in the past..
