PT 73--very loosely based on the boat from 'McHales Navy' (which itself was a 70' Vosper) this model was kitbashed from a Lindberg 1/32nd scale PT-109 kit. In addition to raising the forecastle a about 1/4 of an inch, the hull was cut down three inches. Built in December 1986-February 1987. The boat is RC-capable, but at the moment it (like most of the boats I have) needs a little repair work. This is the best running boat I have. Twin motor drive, with a rheostat type speed control (replaced with an electronic speed control a year ago). |
