Central New Jersey Rail Trail (Hopefully)
Members of the Phillipsburg Riverview Organization have formed a Committee to
convert the unused Central New Jersey Railroad Corridor into a recreational
corridor for walking and bicycling. The Corridor has been deemed eligible for
historic recognition by the US Department of the Interior.
History:
1849-1976 -- the CNJ ran through this area.

The Phillipsburg Riverview Organization has permission from the New Jersey
Transit, to lead group tours of the trail.
Persons Road, Bethlehem Township (eight miles). This section owned by New
Jersey Transit.

the Delaware River, Phillipsburg (owned by Conrail)
The trail is interrupted at 3rd Ave (route 519) in Alpha because both sides of
the way have become overgrown. (To bypass the break use the park in Alpha Annex
and local roads.)
