Located along the ridge of Sourland Mountains.


Directions:

From Flemington; head south on US 202/NJ 31 south to the jughandle for Wertsville Road (County 602) heading east; drive 3.3 miles to Rileyville Road (County 607) and turn right; drive a little less than two miles and turn right on Mountain Road; drive 0.6 of a mile to the parking area on the left.


Geology:

The property straddles the Hunterdon/Mercer County line.


History:

early 1920s  --  last time the woods were cut.

The land is privately owned, but is protected through easements by the Delaware and Raritan Greenway, Inc.

woodlands, wetlands, open meadows


Wildlife:

box turtle, snapping turtle, woodcocks


Trails:

three miles of trails

Yellow Trail  --  begins at the parking area and heads through woodlands to a junction with the orange trail and on. 

Orange Trail  -- descends to wetland; ends at a junction with the yellow trail.

Blue Trail  -- ascends through large boulders to the top of the hill.  At one point it begins and ends with the Yellow Trail.
