Mountain View Park
Nursery Road (Route 647), Hopewell Township, Mercer County, New Jersey

Directions:

New Jersey Turnpike south to Exit 7A for US 195 west;  get onto US 295 north which becomes US 95 just after Exit 67 on US 295;  get off at Exit 3; cross Scotch Road, Route 611, getting onto Nursery Road; drive 0.9 of  a mile to a pull-off on the left across from the house at #61 Nursery Road.  (As far as I know, thee are no signs for the park.)

Location:

Trenton-Mercer County Airport to the south; Mountain View Golf Course on the south west.

Trails:

5/09/2005.  Ceferino Santana, dog Sonar and I had a hard time finding any entrance to this park.  We went back and forth the area until I decided to just use one of the road pull-offs, park, and head out on our own without a trail.  The front part of the area is a huge field with countless numbers of autumn olive bushes being the dominant species. We headed along the field/wood's edge.  Periodically we would jump into the woods and then jump back to the field.  We started following the stream with intermittent, informal paths (probably created by the fishermen?).   We thought we had gone quite a ways from the car but when we crossed the field back to the road we found we were actually very close to the car.  I guess it was going back and forth on those informal paths between the stream, the woods, and the field that gave us the impression we had covered quite a bit of ground.  So, we did not actually cover that much of the place, which is very good-sized.  We will have to come back to investigate some other areas of the park.  Dr. Patrick L.
