History:

The Kusers were manufacturers of the Mercer Car.

1892 – German craftsmen built the 22-room mansion (a City Historic site). It is furnished in original and period pieces. 17 rooms are open to the public, including a private projection and viewing room. The mansion is set on 22 acres of the original 70-acre Kuser estate.

The basement of the mansion houses the Jersey Valley Model Railroad display.

Surrounding the home are formal gardens, tennis courts, and fountains.

c. 1915 – the Kusers helped finance William Fox to start Fox Film Corp., which later became 20th Century Fox.
