Aqueduct Park

Boonton Turnpike, Lincoln Park, Morris County, New Jersey

Located just west of the bridge over the Pompton River connecting Boonton Turnpike (Route 202) and Mountain View Boulevard and just across from Wolfson's Market.

Directions:

US 80 west to exit 53 for Route 23 north; make the jughandle left turn for Mountain View Boulevard that heads over the Pompton River and changes names to Boonton Turnpike (Route 202).  The park is on the right just after passing over the bridge from Passaic County into Morris County.

History:

At the intersection of the Boonton Turnpike and Pine Brook Road there is a sign saying that the Morris Canal crossed the Pompton River on an aqueduct just north of here.

Facilities:

boat ramp (for residents only; I.D. required); swings; picnic pavilion; big lawn

Trails:

5/21/2005.  A very brief stop.  There are no trails here.  It is a very small park, primarily a small lawn along with a boat launch.  There is a border of woods edge along some of the sides. Dr. Patrick L. Cooney.
