History:

1936  --  Roosevelt was established as a utopian experiment of the New Deal era. (The whole Borough makes up the Jersey Homesteads National and State Historic District.)

2000 (December 19) --  former New Jersey Gov. Christine Todd Whitman spoke at the signing of a New Jersey Farmland Preservation Appropriations Bill in the Roosevelt Public School. (The bill completed appropriation of state funding for completion of the Fund for Roosevelt's first 240 acre preservation project.)  http://njcc.com/~ret/ffr/fund.html

at  present  --  it is a town of about 340 homes and less than 1,000 people.
