Waughaw Mountain
Montville Township, Morris County, New Jersey
16 acres and growing

Waughaw Mountain is located west of I-287; east of Turkey Mountain; and south of Surprise Lake.

To preserve the forested ridges along I-287, Morris Co. and Palisades Interstate Park Commission have begun the creation of a Waughaw Mtn.Ramapo Greenway. The County's initial 16-acre purchase on Waughaw Mountain. is expected to increase to 100+ acres by year's end. Waughaw links Pyramid Mtn. and I-287, contains Valhalla Hemlock Glen and Montville's Towaco Valley Aquifer and has spectacular NYC views.

Kinnelon activist Lucy Meyers conceived and promoted the project.
