Buckhorn Springs Wildlife Management Area

Geology:

Located on Scott's Mountain .  The land contains a native trout production stream called Buckhorn Creek, which feeds a reservoir on the property that formerly served as the direct water supply for the town of Belvedere, New Jersey


History:

2004 – funded through the U.S. Forest Service's Forest Legacy Program, with funds from state, local, and private funds

The DEP Division of Fish & Wildlife will manage the land.


Habitats:

In the Highlands, forested watershed;  wetlands, slopes, forested ridges, and stream.


Facilities:

fishing, hiking, and bird watching


Trails:

 There are views of the Delaware Water Gap.
