Directions:

Tappan Zee Bridge; US 87 to US 287 south; get off at Butler exit for Rt. 23 north; left turn onto Route 517; travel south to Ogdensburg 1.6 miles and turn left onto Edison Road; travel past the parking area for the Sparta Mountain Wildlife Management Area and at 3.9 miles (about a block before getting to Route 620) there is a small pull-off on the left by a kiosk.

Trails:

The trail from the kiosk goes northwest to the area around Edison Bog.

The trail on the east side of Ryker Lake hooks up with the Highlands Trail.
