The center, which is sponsored by the Eatontown, N.J., Board of Education, caters to elementary and intermediate school students. Programs vary in length from 1 1/2 to 5 days. History:

According to (Hine1985:153-154), at the mouth of Flat Brook with the Delaware River was the remarkable whirlpool, the Indian name of which, Wahlpack, meant whirlpool.  Another possible origin is Walpekat, "very deep water."
